Snowballs & Teacakes

A little word about snowballs and tea cakes ...no visit to Scotland was complete unless Aunty phid put what's known as a "piece" together to come home on the train with back to shropshire .

Some lovely bread rolls and a few wee treats broke the the big downer of getting the train home after a fab time in penicuik . Usually mum dad and I had demolished them before Carlisle . Which only left dad's rolled up in newspaper bottles of fine scottish Ale uncle jock had give him , in the suitcase, for him to savour later in the week . All this added to my long lasting love of scotland and such happy times as a youngster. Even all these yrs later I always have a teacake on the train home to remind me how it all started .
